EXPERIENCE Weeknight Meteorologist – News 8 Austin, Austin, TX November 2006 – present Prepare and present forecasts on-air for Time Warner Cable’s 24-hour regional news network and 24-hour Non Stop Weather network. On-air segments run six times each hour during “Weather on the 8’s” with continuous live coverage during severe weather events. Frequently involved in community activities, charity events, and school visits. Daily duties include updating weather related website content, 24-hour Non-Stop Weather Channel, and 24-hour Radar Channel. Organize and facilitate annual Girl Scout Day to assist girls in earning their weather badge. Weekday AM/Noon Meteorologist – WTVH, Syracuse, NY January 2004 – October 2006 Prepare and presented forecasts on-air for CBS5 This Morning, Fox 68 Eyewitness News at 7, and CBS5 News at Noon. Frequently was involved in community activities, charity events, and school visits. Filled in as needed for evening shows. Live reporting on occasion. Also provided radio forecasts for WOLF Radio Disney, WFBL News Radio 1390, WSEN 92.1, and WZUN 102.1. Named to the Syracuse New Times “Best of Syracuse” in 2004 and 2005. Weekend Meteorologist – WABI, Bangor, ME August 2002 – September 2003 Prepared and presented forecasts on-air for the top-rated 6:00pm and 11:00pm weekend newscasts. Filled in as needed for the weekday morning and evening shows. Also served as a Production Assistant. Tasks included general television studio procedures such as TelePrompTer, camera, and audio equipment operation. On-Air Meteorologist – ICTV, Ithaca, NY Fall 2000 – Spring 2002 Prepared and presented forecasts on-air for the Ithaca College student-run nightly local newscast. Weather Intern – USAToday, Arlington, VA Summer 2001 Awarded a nationally competitive position. Prepared daily weather updates, wrote and published online articles pertaining to weather and geography; created graphics seen in a national newspaper. Daily Weather Observer – Northeast Regional Climate Center, Ithaca, NY January 2001 – January 2002 Observed and recorded weather conditions; relayed information to the National Weather Service. Weather Intern – WFXT, Boston, MA Summer 2000 Observed and received hands-on experience. Learned broadcast and forecasting techniques, and developed graphics used on-air in a major metropolitan market.
